Stoke 0 Tottenham 4

DREAM DUO Harry Kane and Dele Alli kept Tottenham's title dreams alive as they brushed aside Stoke at the Britannia.

Kane opened the scoring but Alli's classy finish for his first showed just how good Mauricio Pochettino's side have become.

Christian Eriksen played a dazzling no-look pass to an on-rushing Alli 20 yards away.

The young England ace latched onto the ball and cheekily dinked it over a helpless Shay Given between the Stoke sticks mid-way through the second half.

Kane opened the scoring in the tenth minute when he curled in a beauty from the edge of the box.

Geoff Cameron gifted the red-hot Spurs forward too much room but he still had loads to do.

He was up to the task, guiding one past Given's left-hand upright and into the back of the net.

Christian Eriksen then blew a chance to kill the game when he clattered the crossbar in the 42nd minute following a lovely flick from Alli.

But it did not matter, with Kane grabbing his second of the night after Erik Lamela squared in the 71st minute.

Alli made Pochettino bang the ground with fury after he missed an open goal - but made amends by volleying in Eriksen's cross late on.

Here are five things we learnt.

1

Dele Alli is human after all.

Having rounded Shay Given he missed a sitter, striking the outside of the post when it was easier to score.

2

Taunt the England kid at your peril!

Potters fans did after his miss – 12 minutes later he had set up a goal and volleyed home his second goal!

3

Any team who can whip Stoke 4-0 at the Brit has to be taken seriously – even if they are five points off the top.

Title nerves? You’re having a laugh.

4

Mark Hughes will be searching for a Get Well Soon card for Jack Butland today.

Shay Given wasn’t to blame here but Stoke’s confidence looks shot without Butland behind them.

5

Mauricio Pochettino is a hard task-master.

At 2-0 up he dropped to his knees and punched the turf in frustration at Alli’s miss. Talk about high standards!
