Kanye west denies dissing taylor Swift in new album
Kanye West has insisted that he didn’t “diss” Taylor Swift on his new album... after she slammed it for being “misogynistic”. In lyrics to the song Famous, Kanye sings that he believes the pair will have sex and adds: “I made that b**** famous.” The track was aired at a star-studded playback of his new album, The Life Of Pablo, at New York’s Madison Square Garden attended by Naomi Campbell, Anna Wintour and the Kardashian clan, who all wore white. It was also broadcast into cinemas around the globe. In a statement, Taylor’s reps said the singer “cautioned” Kanye “about releasing a song with such a strong misogynistic message”. Read more: When is Kanye releasing new album? But following a critical reception, Kanye, 38, explained himself online yesterday, claiming: “I did not diss Taylor Swift and I’ve never dissed her. Splash Dissed: Taylor Swift “I called Taylor and had a hour-long convo about the line and she thought it was funny and gave her blessings. ‘B****’ is an endearing term in hip-hop.” However, 26-year-old Taylor’s team dispute this version of events, saying: “Kanye did not call for approval but to ask Taylor to release Famous on her Twitter account. She declined and was never made aware of the lyric.” Continuing his spiel, the Gold Digger star claimed he was being “demonised” and added: “I’m not even gonna take credit for the idea... it’s something Taylor came up with. She was having dinner with one of our friends and told him, ‘I can’t be mad at Kanye, he made me famous!’”
